Every year, Curaçao erupts into color, music, and pure energy during its legendary Karnaval—a bold mix of culture, history, and island joy. But with TripCuraçao, you’re not just watching from the sidelines.

You’re joining in.

Local Carnival Experience — Join an Official Carnival Group

This experience gives travelers the rare chance to join an official Carnival group (locally called gruponan), wear an elaborate costume, and dance through the streets in the Grand Parade—from the inside, as part of the celebration.

Whether you’re traveling solo, as a couple, or with friends, we’ll guide you to the right crew based on your vibe:

  • High-energy dance group
  • Traditional costume group
  • More relaxed float-based group (less dancing, more “royal waving”)

How it works

  • We advise you independently and help you find the best-fitting gruponan
  • We assist with the sign-up process and coordination with the group
  • Costume fitting + rehearsal (or optional prep session, depending on the group)
  • On parade day, we help coordinate your entry, transport, and the full experience from start to finish
  • Then you hit the streets with your crew—crowds cheering, cameras flashing, and pure Curaçao energy all around you

Important timing info

Carnival usually takes place every year in February/March. We can help with last-minute sign-ups, but availability depends on the groups and costume stock—so it’s not guaranteed.
